Patients with Dental Anxiety
In addition to offering very gentle dentistry, we offer other methods to help anxious patients get through their dental visits, such as nitrous oxide, conscious enteral sedation, or a combination of the two.
Nitrous oxide is a gas that is inhaled that is a very good analgesic, which means it decreases pain. Nitrous is a very safe and very ideal way of calming anxious patients of all ages.
Enteral or Oral Sedation is when a patient takes prescribed medications prior to the dental visit and even during the dental visit occasionally in order to relax the patient and help tolerate treatment. This type of sedation is minimal and the patient remains conscious, but very relaxed.
Please speak to us if you feel you may require any type of treatment for dental anxiety and we can discuss our options.
